the router is configured. but i can only use it as a wired connection (modem to router to computer). i want to be able to log in wireless. my hp has an integrated wireless net adapter, how do i set that ? it has a utility, how to i set it?

(i tried configuring it and it asked for a network key and i entered the same key i set for the router. i went back to the main screen and my ssid was on my preferred network list. when i click on my ssid in the preferred network key, it comes up with a screen that has a different network key, why is it so? Finally, when i left click on the utility it shows the available networks, i see my ssid and the same key as that on the preferred network key <i do not know what this password is> and when i click connect, i still do not get online). please help.

when i go to wireless network on control panel, it shows wireless network not connected. how do i get this connected?

windows xp

thanks

  1. first go to where it shows where the wireless network is not connected and try to connect to it by right clicking on the connection and clicking on connect, if still doesnt work try to configure it from the properties, or try reinstalling the utility and then create a password and enter that password where you needed it for access. if it still doesnt work try reinstallin the network and make sure you set a password..if you are still having problems email me. jamie_leeuwen@yahoo.com
