  1. Hi

    Try this for connections:http://www.flat-screen-tv-guide.com/conn...

  2. Issue: The Yellow, Red & White cable is actually a composite video and audio cable, NOT a component cable. For the record, a component video cable is the Red, Blue & Green labled cable. This style of video cable also needs a seperate audio cable (Red & White cable).

Step 1: Since you have the composite video/audio cable, lets plug that into the DVD's composite video/audio output jack. You should see on the back of the DVD a Yellow, Red & White jack cluster labeled "Output". Lets plug the Yellow cable into the Yellow jack, the Red cable into the red jack, etc.

Step 2: Repeat this on the back of your XBR. Look for a composite input jack cluster and connect the cable to the same colored jack. Note the number associated with this composite vide/audio input because you will need to know this when selecting your source.

Step 3: Turn on and start your DVD player. Use the XBR remote to select the DVD input. Do this with the "INPUT" button on the remote. Repeated depressions of the "INPUT" button will allow you to scroll through the input list. Stop on the input labeled "Video #" where the number corresponds to the composite video/audio jack number you used on the back of the XBR.

    Step 4: Enjoy your video!

  3. you are almost there... connect the DVD using the component cables like you've described.  Then turn on the TV; on the remote control look for "source" button.  Press it and cycle thru all the input sources.  When you get to Component, your DVD should come up.
