  1. an rf modulator may work. I dunno how tivo connects to a tv, however. If it is like the dvd/vcr through the red, white, and yellow cables, you can hook them from the dvd/vcr into the rf modulator, and the tivo to the rf modulator. The modulator hooks into the tv, and then you can switch between the two.

  2. Once you have a Digital Video Recorder like TiVo, it's a safe guess you'll never record TV shows with you VCR again.

This means you can connect the output of your TiVo to the VCR, and the output of the VCR to your TV. This allows you to watch VCR tapes (without affecting the TiVo, which is upstream from the VCR) and, when your VCR is not in operation, the TiVo will pass through the VCR to your TV.

If your TV is so old that it only has a coax "cable in" input (looks like your cable-TV connection), you need to use the following connections:

TiVo "RF Out" ==> VCR "RF In"

VCR "RF out" ==> TV input

If your TV has video/audio-L/audio-R connections, using these will give you better picture:

TiVo "Video out" ==> VCR "Video in"

TiVo "Audio out" (L) ==> VCR "Audio in" (L)

TiVo "Audio out" (R) ==> VCR "Audio in" (R)

VCR "Video out" ==> TV "Video in"

VCR "Audio out" (L) ==> TV "Audio in" (L)

VCR "Audio out" (R) ==> TV "Audio in" (R)

If your TV has S-Video connectors, use these instead of the yellow Video connectors for even better picture.

  3. good guess,multiple scart option
