How do i connect my XBOX 360 to my Sony Home Theater?

What i have

- XBOX 360 Elite

- Sony DAV-DZ20 Home Theater

- An HDMI cable that came with the XBOX 360. (I also have the 6 cable componant HD cable too if needed)

- A cable with yellow, white, red (I think it's called an RCA cable).

- Sony 32IN KDL32U4000 HD Digital LCD TV

Righty, I have the HDMI cable connecting my XBOX 360 to my TV.

On the Home Theater box, All i have is a single SCART socket which expains (EURO AV, TV OUTPUT). I connected a SCART from the Home Theater to my TV in AV1.

On the DVD player it has a function button which you can switch to either DVD, TUNER FM, TUNER AM and TV.

When i switch to TV on the DVD Player, the audio from the TV comes out of the speakers. Which is perfect.

However, when i switch to HDMI 1 (which is what my XBOX 630 is connected to) I have the picture perfectly but the audio is the original TV channel which i was watching before.

Now before i bought this TV, i had the same problem with an older samsung widescreen tv (Not the reason i bought this HD TV cause i wanted to upgrade anyway). So i tried it on a Samsung HD TV (Me Mothers TV). Connected up the DVD to AV1 and switched the function to 'TV' and low and behold, when i turned to a different source, the sound of that source came through the speakers, just like i want it to on mine.

But for some reason, it's giving me problems.

Can anyone help?

I don't mind buying extra cables or whatever i need to make this work.

Thank for for reading my question.

  1.         If your Home theater has optical input, you should buy one to connect it from Xbox to Home system for surround sound.
