How do i connect my cable box my bose v20 system?

i just purchased a bose v20 series but thing is that when connect my cable box which is a time warner hd box i get a display that says doesnt support hdmi how do i fix this because i would like to connect all my devices through the bose system?

You will also have to run a digital optical cable (toslink) to the matching audio input as the Bose does not process audio via HDMI. You are one cable away from success.
