How do i connect my camera to my computer?! HELP?

well i have a Sony "Handycam Vision" camera that i got from my brother, and when he gave it to me, he had lost all of the cords and stuff... so i had to go to radio shack and get some cords!! and the only cord that i could find that would connect my PC to my camera was a round plug that looks similar to a mouse plug i guess... but i don't have like any software or anything that recognizes that the camera is connected... and my computer doesn't like beep when i plug in the camera like it does if i plug anything else in.. so is there anyway to find a software that will recognize that its plugged in? and do i have the right kind of plug? oh and its a CCD-TRV319 NTSC model

If am not mistaken, CCD-TRV319 is an analog hi-8 vcam.

In order to upload a video to a pc, it must be in digital form (not analog)
