How do i connect one router to the other?

I have two routers. One is intended for upstairs and the other is for downstairs. How can i connect both wirelessly without confusing computer stuff? I have the super netgear router and one that verizon comes with. thought that maybe i could plug in an adapter into the ethernet port and use that, but i still don't know if that would work. Will it?

You have one router connected to the internet. The other can connect as a wireless bridge. You'll have to mess about with the settings to make sure that the encryption and radio channels are the same on both routers. Or you hook them together with a cable. You second router should not have DHCP running or things will get a bit confusing.
