How do i connect plastic pushfit pipe to stainless steel pipe

Question

i am renewing some water pipe from bath back to kitchen so i can bury the pipes and the pipe i want to connect to is stainless steelhow do i connect plastic pushfit pipe to is old stainless steel pipe, will this accept a pushfit connector or do i have to get a special fitting, compression, etc

If it's the bath waste it will be 43mm, so you'll need a  one and a half inch (43mm) straight compression fitting, of which you put on the stainless steel, you'll have to crank it right up, ideally make sure that the olive's (internal fittings resembling a large wedding ring) are brass and not copper.

Once you have tightened it up on the stainless steel, you'll need a short section of copper tube of the same size 43mm approx 8" long.

This copper will go in the other end of the fitting, once inserted, and tightened,  you can put a universal McCalpine coupling (plastic)  on the copper, then convert it too 43mm  plastic, right through.

Alternatively  use the same method; but, ask the plumbers merchants if they have a metric too imperial compression fitting.

use compression fittings, the grab ring on pushfit cannot grip into stainless or chrome pipe

You don't say what size the stainless steel pipe is, but if it is the same size as the pushfit pipe, you may be able to join them with a compression connector. This is a fitting that you tighten with a spanner. You will need an insert for the plastic pipe to prevent it crushing when you tighten the compression fitting. You can get an insert from a plumbers merchant.

Don't use push fit on stainless it WILL leak.

Using a compression fitting. Don't use a push fit one with stainless - it will leak.
