How do i connect to a non-broadcast local network for the first time without making it broadcast using XP??

i have a non-broadcast wireless network at home and i want to connect to it for the first time with my new laptop (XP). is there a way that i can connect to the network,using windows, without making the network broadcast again?? i DO know the SSID and the passwords...

  1. Try this:

    Open the Control Panel, then double click Network Connections. Find your wireless network connection adapter. Right click it and click Properties. When the Wireless Network Connection Properties window open, click on Wireless Networks tab. Once there click the button Add. Now enter the information for your wireless network, the SSID, the type of network authentication and encryption and your encryption keys. Click OK and click OK again on the properties window.

    This should connect you to the non-broadcasting wireless network as long as everything is set up correctly.
