  1. why don't you just use a 12vdc fan and connect it  to the battery and turn it on when you start the car or when the key is in...

  2. If your using a 12v fan for computer, then it will be alright. This way, the fan will be on whenever you on you radio, and off when you off your radio. Since these fans doesn'e consume much power, u can even install 2 nos for your amp.

As i'm using a 1000w amp, it trnds to heat up, so i install 2 fans. I've been using it for 3 years now and everthing still running fine

  3. That should work but may not be the best choice.

A basic computer cooling fan (12v brushless type with 2 wires) should work but I'd recommend a matching wire cover to keep wires or anything else from jamming the fan and damaging or stopping it...unless you have something already better designed for that use.

Check to see when the pos/ground wires to see if they're powered all the time or just when you turn on the amp.  You can do this either by connecting the fan and watching it or using a multi-meter on DC Voltage setting.

If it's always powered (even with the engine off) the fan would always be on and drain your battery or wear itself out fast.  Hopefully it'll be just powered when the amp is being used in which case that would work but be carefull splicing wires that you don't damage something else or mutilate the wires or connector.  Also make sure your connection is well covered (insulated) and if you cut the wires to splice in, that the connectors are rated for the wattage being used.
