  1. you get someone who knows what they are doing...

  2. You need (2) 3-way switches and a 4-way switch wired to the lamp in the desired configuration, for example:

    3-way switch.......lamp......4-way switch.......3-way switch

  3. the answer is to us a 3-way to a 4-way to a 3-way. confused?

it would be a lot easier to draw you a picture, but i will try to explain.

you will feed the first 3-way with two wires, a black (hot) and a white (nuetral) and a ground.  from the 3-way to 4-way you will send a 3 wire, black ( switch leg), a red (traveler) and a white ( traveler) and ground.  from 4-way to the next 3-way you will send a black ( switch leg) a red (traveler) and a white ( traveler) and a ground.   are you confused?

i will depend on were you can feed the first switch and were you have access to feed the light, but for this instance we will

feed the first switch and the light out of the same box.

your 2 wire in the first box will connect like so

the black will land on the odd colored s***w (black) and your white will wire nut to the white going to your light. the ground will wire nut to all grounds in the box as well as a pig tail to the switch ( and to the box if it is metal). now the 3 wire in the first switch box will land like so.

the black will wire nut to the black wire going to your light. the red wire will go to one of the two s***w of the same color (silver). the white will go to the other silver s***w.

    on to the 4-way box.

all greens will wire nut together and a pig tail to the ground on the switch ( and the box if metal). the two blacks will wire nut together. the red and white of one wire will land on the same colored screws( one wire on each) and the red and white of the other wire will land on the other color( one wire on each).

on to the last box with a 3-way .

the ground will land on the ground on the switch (or pig tail to the switch and the box if a metal box). the black will land on the black s***w. the red and white will land on the silver screws ( one wire on each ).

you now have what is called a 3-way circuit.

  4. This sounds like one of those "How many _____ does it take to change a lightbulb?"  Kind of jokes.

I think you have two switches too many... lightbulbs typically have two modes... on and off.  One switch can control this perfectly... if you're in a long hall, maybe two switches will do.

I see no logical reason for three.

  5. Set up a 4-way switch.  http://www.electrical-online.com/4waydia...  or  http://www.wiringhelp.com/electrical/ele...
