How do i convance my mom that i need to go to school?

I'm 16 years old i have been home schooled all my life i had to learn basically on my own with no help. is there a way i can convince her that i want to go to school, instead of a ged

you have to tell her your opinion. its you life right? you should get to choose. tell you want to make friends go to dances and all those other things you are missing out on. seriosly this should be the time of your life but your stuck at home. she wont know unless you tell. just try to not hurt feelings i guess. you have to do thou man

Most people who homeschool their kids do it for a reason.  It's more trouble for the parents than just sending the kids to regular school.  You should ask your mom why she's homeschooling you...is it for religious reasons, because she thinks the schools in your area are too dangerous, etc...Maybe if you understand her reasons it will make more sense to you.  You could ask her to look into homeschooling co-op groups in your area so you could meet some people your own age and maybe learn some different things.  You can get a diploma when you're homeschooled, it doesn't have to be a ged.

That is a terrible thing to do to a child.  Doesn't she know that by not going to school that you miss out on so much.  Like the prom, school spirit, participating in school activities, having friends and going out with them.

Explain to her that receiving a high school diploma is much better than just getting a ged.

Tell her that you want to go to the prom and experience high school life and make friends.

Home schooling is when the parent take the responsibility of educating you.   If you mother is not educating you but you have had to do it on your on, than you can report her to the school board or someone for not teaching you at home.

Then you will be able to attend high school.  But your mother will be in a lot of trouble and well she should be if she did not teach you but refussed to let you go to school.

Try to explain that you need the help of teachers to understand the work properly. If that doesnt work you might like to contact the board that looks after homeschooled students as it is their job to make sure you are being taught correctly.
