  1. show him how good an actor you are!

  2. The key point is to be an artist. Chasing fame will get all odds against you. Just pursue it, perform, perform, perform, in any possible play to get seen by as many people possible... You also have to identify a style that you want. A person, group, or company that really make you think "I want to do that". Find a way to practice with their technique (and i said practice, besides study). practice is finally what will get you on stage in a solid way. Make yourself clear if you want either a JOB or an artistic activity that will make you happy. Being notorious is not necessary being talented, or, even worse, it will make you compromise many ethical things that you might not like to do or act in plays that you dont really like. The commercial circuit not always cross roads with the pure artistic lane, so you have to be focused in what you deeply wish. If you are serious, you'll get your family support. Welcome! Best of luck!

  3. There's a talent recruiting network called http://www.MyTaltopia.com

It's a great place to start for anyone with talents (singing, acting, comedy, etc) thinking about becoming famous. If you can get some recognition from that site, maybe it might convince your dad too.

Of course there's no such thing as guaranteed fame, but you want to give yourself every chance. Good luck!

  4. if you think you're a good actor

then you should be able to persuade him

ask him this question: Have you ever had a dream to be anything?

if he answers yes, ask him what it was. ask him if

he achieved it and if he believed he would.

Say all this in a dramatic yet understanding way.

Then ask, do you want you own son to give up on his dream?

Then ask him, did you ever give up on your dream?

  5. If you have to ask this, then perhaps you might want to re-think acting as an occupation.  Acting is, to a great degree, about convincing your audience you are what you are performing.   If you are good, find a performance your Dad will buy.  Find something he is entertained by.  Try to improve upon it.  He is just worried, as any parent might, that you will find it difficult to make a living at acting.  There are a lot of very talented people out there working behind a bar, or waiting tables.

Fame is cranking it up, just a bit.  First achieve your goal of becoming an actor.  Do it as well as you possibly can.  If you have what people want to see, fame could follow.  Just remember fame is not always a good thing.  Break a leg!

  6. show him ur willing to take classes... start by taking the drama class in ur school and do good... then hopefully you can start taking other workshop and classes
