How do i convince my mom to let me get a lock on my door without her thinking im trying to hide something?

It's never going to happen. As long as you have the door locked and your inside as parents we know your doing something your not supposed to.

-privacy

-if your changing

-if your sleeping

-if you want to be left alone

-people don't get into your room (little kids)

just tell her why you want it those are just a few reasons, tell her each week she can go in your bedroom to check if your hiding something (i suggest you make sure she doesn't see anything you don't want her to) good luck

I had to get a job and buy my own lock, then I had to give my parents are extra key.  I did it becuase my sisters were stealing my stuff.  As long as you live in your parents house, you should respect that they bought the place and they can go wherever they want to in it.

why dont you do it late at night when everyone is asleep??? no one is going to come into your room if you have the door closed and it is 12 am in the morning.

or perhaps do it in the bathroom, if the door has a lock?  even do it in the shower. NO one is going to walk in on you in there!

how old are you?? judging from how you speak, you seem old enough to have a lock on the door. but it has to work in the way that your parents have spare key, just incase you break your leg or something and they have to get inside.
