How do i convince my parents to adopt a rabbit?

i have a two year old hamster and i want to adopt a rabbit. I already asked my parents and they said yes, but only if my hamster dies. I found a rabbit that i really want to adopt, but i am worried somebody else might adopt it. The first rabbit i wanted to adopt was adopted a few days ago. So how can i convince them? And no I will not wait until my hamster dies.

A rabbit has a life span of 8 to 12 years. That is a long commitment.  That is why rabbits are better off being cared for by adults rather than by children.

Although rabbits and hamsters can be bonded, you would be better off getting a second hamster as a companion for the one you have.

You won't wait till the hamster dies, huh? Then why did you suggest that very thing? Are you trying to play games with them?

You can't convince them of anything they don't want to do. You will only sound immature and NOT ready for another pet

Do your research and prove to them that you are responsible.  I would ask my kids about food, housing and care.  I would try to watch how much attention the hamster was getting and how well it was cared for.  Pets are not toys, and they should not be neglected.  I would ask them how much it would cost for it's lifetime.  Food?  Vet care?  research into possible health problems and cost to fix them - malnutrition, hairballs, pyometra, wry neck for starters.  The responsibility should not be taken lightly, and if my child could prove that they had taken all of these things into consideration and that they were prepared to care for a new pet and were already taking really good care of the pet they had, I would probably let them get a pet.

It sounds like you'll have to wait until your hamster dies.  How else would you get around it?  One pet at a time sounds like their policy.  If you won't wait for your hamster to die, maybe you can find him a new home instead.
