  1. Tell them all the good things about having a dog.  And what you will do if they let you have a dog? It could be a good watch dog!!!

  2. If you have to convince them, it's a bad idea from the get-go. They will end up taking a lot of the responsibility for the animal's welfareand certainly, the financial burden. A serious injury or disease can cost thousands of dollars. A dog is a life-long responsibility, not just "if it's easy" or "if it's cheap". If they don't want a dog, don't welcome it with full hearts, it'll be a disservice to the dog, sooner or later.

  3. Who takes care of the dog you already have?  Why do you want another one?  I think you need to answer those questions first.

  4. The best way to convince your parents that you should get another dog would be to take care of the dog(s) you already have.  If you show responsibility for what you have then you are also showing that you could be responsible for more.

Also, your parents might be concerned with limitations of space or finances and be reluctant to add another pet, especially a larger one like a lab.

    Good luck!

  5. If you already have one dog, why is it so important to get another one.  I absolutely loveeee dogs and and that's why I'm on here.  That being said, I only have one dog because it costs ALOT of money (food, vet bills, flea and tick meds, heartworm meds, etc) to have a dog and even more to have more dogs.  There is a housing crisis in this country now and inflation and gas, food and everything else is ssooooo expensive that people are barely making it now as things are.  I know you want another dog but your parents are the bosses cause they pay the bills and they are the ones ultimately responsible for the dog since you are minor so please dont' bug them about it. They probably are stressed enough so don't add any more.  Be a good kid and student and do chores around the house and maybe they'll let you get another pet that isn't so money or time consuming.  Enjoy the dog you have and be mature so that they can feel that they have a good kid and that'll be less stress on them.
