Okay,so I want to visit my cousin in California.I live in Missouri and I'm planning on flying into Las Vegas. It's about $300 round-trip.I am really mature and if I get the money issue out of the way, I won't know how to convince my dad to let me go.And also,I'm staying for 8 days, how much money would i have to bring for food and other things?

  1. thats a hard one, im 19 and i didnt fly alone until i was 18, and that was only because it was to a birthday cruise.... so im not sure if 14 is actually old enough, depend on ur parents!!

  2. Really??? I'm sorry but I totally disagree with the other posters - I flew alone for the first time when I was 8 (no connections), and I'm now 24 and have never had a serious problem in the airport.  Frankly parents should know that an airport is probably the safest place in the world you can be.  Think of all the kids in Europe and Australia who go on an extended holiday at 17-18 all around the world!  Geez people loosen the leash a little.  This is exactly why kids get to college and completely can´t function because they´ve never learn to troubleshoot and problem-solve!!!!

  3. Are you crazy????...put yourself in their situation!!!!!!!! You are their responsibility!!!!!!!

You will understand once you have carried a child for 9months and all the pain you go through to have it..and then you see if it is easy to let your 14 year old daughter fly 1 mile away!!!!

  4. When I was 14, I was flying halfway across to world to visit friends =]  They really shouldn't have any problem with that, especially if you register as an unaccompanied minor.  This way the airline will keep an sys on you and make sure you get on, off, and connect safely.  I'm sure that it would really help to put your parents at ease.

Hope this helps, and good luck!
