How do i correctly measure a golf clup?

i just joined a jr. high golf team, i have a set of regular sized golf clubs,but i dont know if they are too long, i am 5' 6"

  1. Measuring is not really part of proper golf club fitting.  Each person's swing is different and to be properly fit you need to see a professional that is certified in fitting.  Your height is not too important, as long as your arms are in proportion to you body.  There have been many excellent golfers that were 5'6" and used standard length clubs.  Since you are probably still growing and will get taller, and since your swing is likely to change over the next few years you need to fitted for clubs probably once year over the next five or so.  


  2. You can usually tell by feel. However, you should really go somewhere to get them checked. Usually golf stores offer something where you can be measured for golf clubs. Beginners it doesn't matter as much the length (unless they are super long or super short). It's when you start getting good you'll need personalized clubs.
