How do i covert video files to mp3?

i have a video in avi format. is it possible to convert it to a mp3 file? If so, how do i get about doing it? Thanks.

mp3 is music only you could turn it into mp4 i belive in itunes... not quite sure.

You can't convert it, but you can rip the audio out of it.
