  1. In this day and age of the internet quite easily actually.

Is it just to promote yourself/your band or to actually take on other clients. I really gave this some thought myself, having a battle of the bands type thing to promote and allow you to sign up bands for free.

Plenty of peices of software out there that can allow for downloads, band profiles/blogs, and selling single etc.

So you need a name, some acts, a website/logo etc (which we could help you with for probably less than you would think), and then of course promotion, hence battle of the bands or maybe something more national.

You can your name out there on Youtube and similar aswell for not alot of money.

Good luck please drop me a line if you get further with the idea and need some graphic input.

  2. What you pay a major label for is their managment, contacts, advertising budget, equipment, studio time, production, etc.

Without that, you have to build all of that yourself.   Your best bet as an independent is to start by building a fan base.

  3. Some money.  Some good artists.  And a lot of marketing/A&R/PR skills or contacts.

    Good luck!
