In very general sense Excedrin as a combination of caffeine, acetaminophen, and aspirin is the best medicine for constant headache. However this medication is treating so called elevated symptom of the problem, not the problem itself. If your persistent headache is not going away it is time for a bigger comprehensive check up and possibly for more serious treatment. Most of the doctors prescribe tricyclic antidepressants for that.

Keep in mind that these medications (Pamelor, Amitriptiyline) are not ower the counter headache medications. They have multiple adverse effects. So every patient need to be monitored closely for side effects caused by them.
