How do i cut down on alcohol? what's the best way?

  1. I agree with some of the others, the best way is to avoid the places, people or situtations that normally associate with drinking.  If you were more of a social drinker, start finding things to do at home, or have some friends over who don't drink.  I find it also helps not to talk about it.  Sometimes when everyone is sitting around reminiscing about "that time we all went drinking and...", it makes me want to drink.

  4. well when you get an urge to drink just smoke weed. even though it sounds crazy it works. after a few months everytime you get an urge to smoke weed smoke a ciggarette then once your addicted to cigs stop smoking them for three days and you will be cured

  5. Do things besides drinking, and most importantly, don't spend time with who do drink when they're drinking, or talking about drinking.

    Psychologists talk about something called onset cues, which is when your brain associates a particular place or circumstance with another.  When you drink enough times in a frat house basement, your brain associates drinking with frat house basements and thereafter whenever you go into such a basement, your brain expects you to start drinking and signals this readiness with cravings.  The way to break the trend is to stop going to places that you associate with drinking.
