  1. Try a cylinder mower. you get them with rollers which will give you a striped effect. I have a manual (hand push) one and its the best lawnmower I've ever had, it cuts my lawn (about 15m X 20m) no problem. maintenance is really low, no power cables to worry about and no petrol or loud noise. I would keep your other mower though, use it for the first cut of the season when the grass is quite long as the cylinder mower isn't that good with long grass, or uneven ground.

  2. I'm pretty sure you have to have the right kind of grass first. Try a gardener, they should be able to help.

  3. Belt Sander?

  4. Depending on the type of your grass you have makes a difference in the cut of your grass....if you have a very fine sod ...like that of the golf course around the 18 hole perimeter....it can be cut very close and maintained  a good look.........So you are just going to have to play around with it to see what you can do.........Pick a spot to try a close cut......You can use your lawn mower adjusted to the lowest level .........pull out your weed eater....and cut supper close yet leave your grass........once you can figure out just how you want it to look....you'll have it made........but, you are the only one who can figure this out.....Good luck!!

  5. Generally when you are looking for a finish like on a tennis court or golf coarse they use a mower with more blades on them, so if your home mower has 4 blades you will find they use one with 6 or more to gain a more accurate finish on top of the fact that the blades are closer to the ground.

Thats what I have been told anyway, hope it helps you out
