The costumers on the other hand were h**l! they kept yelling at me rolling there eyes and telling me how to do my job. I am really nervous to go back because i am sensitive and i know i shouldn't take things personally but i do!!!

So how to i deal with impatient and mean costumers?

  1. In any retail or food service job, you're going to deal with a lot of people who simply have no respect for you as a human being.  You're a convenient target for them to vent on because their kids are annoying them, because their job stinks, because of a thousand different things that have nothing to do with you.  Do your job as best you can, and if they complain, shrug it off and remember the customers who do compliment you.  You'll get plenty of those too, especially at Coldstone!  (Got any coupons? :-p)

  2. I understand, I'm sensitive and the same thing happened to me too. I used to work as a cashier at an uptown store and it is h**l BUSY. And if that is not bad enough, I also work during Christmas too so you can imagine. People are so demanding and they think that because you work there, you should know about everything. But just relax and don't lose your cool, just apologize because when people saw a new person they get mad because they are new and don't know everything yet and the customer really want to get what they want without any wait or anything messed up by the new people and some of them will tried to take advantage of you. But don't worried, pretty soon, you'll get use to it, know your thing and people will start to respect you more. But I want to tell you one thing, don't let any of the employees there take advantage of you. Because you're sensitive, you're probably nice, stand your guard and be strong because they might think that you are weak and try to take advantage of you, let them know clearly that just because you are sensitive and nice, doesn't mean that you can be taken advantage off!! I don't want to go back either when I first started, I got yelled by customer and some tried to take advantage of me for some stupid thing. But some customers are really nice too and I became friends with some of them. But pretty soon when you get use to it, it'll be a peice of cake. Hang in there, you can find a new job soon but wait at lease 6 month. It's always hard for a sensitive person to go out and get a job like this, take alot of courage, but you do learn from it and it does make you more stronger plus its good for your resume. ;)

  3. just tell them okay and smile at them. it'll drive em nuts! :)

  4. spit in their ice cream     lol jk jk

be as nice as you can

    that should help

  5. Yeah there is something about food and customers, they just get really picky about it lol i bet coffee places are the worse! anyways, i work at jcpenney and deal with customers literally non stop. and some are nice and patient, while others are h**l like you said. Bit of advice would be to tell them that you are new and that you are trying your best. I used the "new" excuse for like 3 weeks lol. Sometimes, once they know youre new they have a lil sympathy and back off. it also helps to make small talk, if thats possible at your job, and like joke around. that always makes the situation better. but as long as they know you are trying and that you are really trying to make them happy (even if you arent) there is really nothing else you can do. And trust me, some people are just mean and it has nothing to do with you. Give it time and you will be "numb" to mean customers, its just part of jobs!

  6. I worked at cold stone for 2+ years.

It definitely gets better once you know what you are doing.

It really gets to a point where you really don't have to think about what you're doing, you just do it. And your customers will be easier to work with because you will know more than they do about the job. Just tell them that you are new, and that if they are not "100% satisfied with their purchase, you'll make them a new one for free because that's the cold stone guarantee. "

Just keep on working, it pays off. I loved my job, and only had to leave because I moved for college, and I might apply at one again.
