How do i delay the settlement date?

Question

My settlement day is Aug 20. My bank says only on Aug 29th they can close the Loan. What are the ways I can delay the settlement date.

Ask. They are occasionally extended a few extra days; or tell the  bank it's 8/20 or you get a new lender
