I don't think you can. I think you can only do that if it's DVD RW.

It is only possible to re-record over dvd/rw discs .....

In tech terms ....

/rw - indicates a media is rewritable

/r - indicates a media is only record able - i.e. Not re-writable

You can't. Think of a DVD-RW as written in pencil, which you can rub out (erase), and DVD-R as written in ink - you can't erase it.

you cant delete DVD- or + disk  only dvdrw can be delete'

just need to throw in bin after you shredder it .

disk are cheap to buy now 50 about £7.00

Hi Chris,

DVD-R and DVD+R discs can't be erased.

The only DVDs you can erase and reuse are DVD-RW and DVD+RW. The RW stands for ReWrite.
