i just figured out how to transfer music to my ipod nano, the problem is that every song on my pc was transfered, even the crappy sample music that was already in my pc. i would like to delete those songs and about 500 other songs that i did not want in the nano, how do go about doing this ? the ipod help site did me no good either.

  1. Connect your iPod to the computer and open up iTunes

once your iPod is detected on itunes click on the arrows next to its name.

    A list should drop down.

Click on music and a list of all your songs will show up. Click on the songs you don't want and press delete on your keyboard.

To make sure this doesnt happen again go to your music library and uncheck all the songs you don't want on your iPod. Also click on your iPod summary and check "manually manage music"  that way the next time you want songs you just drag it to your iPod.
