  1. Open Itunes and just delete the music without plugging in your Ipod...

  2. first delete the song from itunes, then go to edit preferences and turn off auto-syncing. it will let you pretty much drag and drop what music you want. hope i helped.

  3. no way doing that.

  4. It's usually not a good idea to have your only copy of your music on your iPod, because it's not as easy to get songs OFF an iPod as it is to get them on.

That being said, to accomplish what you are asking, follow these steps:

    1. Connect your iPod to your PC, open iTunes.

    2. Click on your iPod to bring up the Summary tab.

    3. Put a check next to the option "Manually manage music and videos"

NOTE: from now on you need to click the Eject button next to your iPod before disconnecting it from your computer

    4. Delete the songs you don't want on your computer using iTunes.  (Don't use explorer.)

** SCROLL DOWN TO: Manual Mode **

  5. you have to find the root source of the files on your computer.  you can access this by right clicking on the song and then going to the line reading "Get Info"  then at the bottom of the screen that will pop up is the location of the root file.  follow that to find the file and delete it.  after that dont forget to delete the missing songs in the library and then empty your trash.
