  1. At any search site the drop down list is maintained by the auto complete function of the browser. That is the way names and addresses are filled in for you. You can turn the option off in internet options.

In IE go to tools - internet options - content - autocomplete - settings - forms (delete if desired).

In Firefox go to tools - options - privacy - remember what I enter in forms and the search bar.

To delete the items in just one box do the following. Double click in the "empty" box. Drop down to the first item and keep pressing the delete key until they are all gone.

  2. **Removal of items on your search bar**

On the right side of the bar before you get to the web search button click on the bar (you may have to click it a few times) will open a drop down box that will bring you at the front of items you searched for.

Place your mouse pointer over the first item and you will see it highlight. Do not click the item just leave your mouse where it is and hit the delete button on your keyboard. The item will vanish and the next will take its place and become highlighted. Just keep hitting the delete button and watch them go away.

This will work for any browser.

  3. that or you can highlit it and hit the delete key  works for me or just go to tools ether click on it or alt + T, go to internet options and delets and clear you history
