How do i destroy the anivirus xp 08? Can it be done without buying something?

I don't really know that much about computers, but I really need to get rid of this virus, it's a real pain.Does any1 know the step by step routine to get rid of this in detail? I tried to unistall but It wont go away. HELP

Now that you've cleaned out the culprit (if you're POSITIVE it's 100% gone), have you tried doing a system restore?

Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore

Choose a restore point that exists prior to your unfortunate AXP installation. If you haven't installed any programs or windows updates lately, I would go back as far as you feel comfortable just in case it wasn't actually TODAY that you got infected.

If the system restore doesn't work right, try rebooting in to safe mode and then do it again.
