  1. If you are flying in to the region, rent the skiis at the area, if you are using your own equipment, the skiis seem about right for the new style ie. shaped skiis.

      Hope this helps.

  2. What is your skiing ability?

If you are a beginner then don't go higher than your chin or so if you have skis that are fairly new.   If you are intermediate than go from your chin to your nose.

You may want to consider renting out there.  Especially with all the snow they have there now you may want to rent some fat powder skis.  They are a lot of fun when you have deep snow.

  3. Your skis should be just up to between your nose and your chin.

  4. these are probably too short. It also depends on your ability level. I am 5'5'' 125 lbs. and I ski a 169 volkl bridge.

  5. Hi

To find the right  size ski you measure them against yourself they should be between your chin and nose when measured against you

    Good luck!

  6. Modern shaped skis are designed with the following considerations: skier's weight, skier's ability, terrain, and ski type. Skier's height matters when determining bindings' DIN (tension) settings but *not* when determining ski length.

Read this page carefully http://www.summitsportsinc.com/online/gu...  This the best information you can get for your question. I have found that lots of guides from online stores and local (non ski specialized) stores to be incorrect.

If this is your first pair, all mountain ski is best due to its versatility. When you become advanced/expert skier, you will demand more performance from the skis for specific skiing and terrain thus will likely to own several pairs.

I don't know the type of ski you have and the kind of terrain you use the ski for, so it is hard to say if it is the right size or not. But, look at the chart on the page I gave you and you can decide the right size for yourself. For example, assuming intermediate, groomed, all mountain:

    1) weight: 104 lbs             ..... 145cm

    2) ability: intermediate     ..... +5cm

    3) terrain: groomed          ..... +0cm

    4) ski type: all mountain   ..... +10cm

-----> ski length 160cm or a little bit shorter
