How do i disinfect/keep clean my dish sponge? ?

i put it in the dishwasher when i get to use the washer but it normally takes 2-3 days before it fills up. what can i do in between to keep it bacteria free?

Soak it in bleach water then rinse thoroughly. But I would highly recommend replacing in at least once a month. Sponges are a breeding ground for bacteria and washing it with detergent will not kill them. You really  need to replace them every so often. And a pack of regular dish sponges are very inexspensive. Get them from the dollar store!

Boil it, or make it wet (not just damp, but WET), put it on a saucer, and microwave it for a minute or two.  Make sure it is wet though, or it will catch on fire and stink your house up.

Put it in the sink with a little detergent and a little bleach and wash it out in that. The bleach should keep it bacteria free and the detergent will clean it.
