  1. If you take it to a nearby service station, you *might* be able to make friends with a mechanic, who might return the favor by checking pressure in your tires (or something).

  2. If it is brand new anti-freeze then you can do a number of things with it.  About the nicest thing you might do with it, however, is to donate it to a womans shelter.  Lots of women get to leave with a car, and not much else.  They often have little to no money, or any kind of mechanical work.

It's a bit of an odd donation, but one they would happily accept.  Since anti-freeze has gone up ever so much in price, there's a woman out there who would be very appreciative of recieving some to keep her car running well over the winter.

Also if you feel weird about donating it to a womans shelter, check with your local high schools and see if any of them have a car mechanics class.  Students would be thrilled to recieve such donations, since those kind of classes often operate on a shoestring.

  3. Do you have the green or the red?

I leave the green out in a bowl for the neighbors cats to drink.

  4. Take it to your city's waste management transfer or recycling center. They have a spot to leave your old paint, gas, and other toxic stuff in its container.

  5. you can take it to most any auto parts store and they will take it off your hands.
