Pick some colors - mardi gras colors are good (green, gold and purple) for groupings of helium balloons.

Tell everyone on the invitation that it is a masqurade ball. As a matter of fact, you could write the invitation details on a mask to send (or send masks with the invitation).

Have some extra masks at the door for people who didn't bring theirs.

Set out a great buffet, play music on your speaker system (or rent one if you need to) and have fun!
