did gymnastics for a few years when i was a kid and everyone told me that i was amazing when it came to the sport for a guy and that if i continued, id maybe make it to the olympics. Now im 15 turning 16 in 3 months and idk if thats too late to start training again, but I was thinking about starting again maybe to at least get a college scholorship. I already know how to do the basics, such as cartwheels, handstands, roundoffs and standing back handsprings. I know that the age for mens gymnastics is way later than womens, if true is that good news also?

Also how do i convince my parents to even let me start again?

  1. not sure

  2. If gymnastics is what you love to do..then you should do it! It is a great sport, and only talented and coordinated people can do it......so you are awesome!! Just tell your parents that gymnastics is your passion, and you see yourself having a career involving gymnastics, in the future. I am sure they will understand.

  3. im not sure if its good news or not. but you really have to convince your parents that it is something you want to do and not something you are gonna get bored of and hate doing like 1-3 months after you start doing it.

  4. Finish collage first. Then talk 2 your parents about it, but at your age keep practicing! You will make it and don't stop believing into your dream!

  5. i think if people said that you could go to the Olympics when u were younger and you can still do the things you used to be able to do and you try hard you could get a scholarship and maybe go into the Olympics but it depends on how much u train allot of Olympians have no life ha I'm sorry to say it but if u are in the Olympics u have to devote your life to training  but if its what you really want to do and your willing to do it then great! ill see you in the Olympics ha! but to get your parents to let you get back into it you should let them no that you are sticking to it which means once u start it would not be a good idea to get out but until they let you u have to show them your devoted practice all the time! look up new moves on you tube that might help and also just so you know it takes allot of money that one gymnast Shawn Johnson her parents had to take out of their mortgage TWiCE just to let her stay in!
