  1. Add 3 to both sides(to cancel out the three on the left side of the equation) to get

    6x+8=7x

    Then subtract 6x from each side(cancel out 6x on the left) to get

    8=x

  2. Basically its how you described it. You take the 6x and subtract it from both sides, it cancels out the 6x and subtracts from the 7x, since 6x is a positive number. Then you take the -3 and add it to both sides to cancel out the -3 and add it to 5 since -3 is negative. You should get 8= 1x. Then divide the 8 by the one to get X by itself. You should get x=8. Remember do to one side as you do to the other. Here is what it will look like:

    6x+5=7x-3

    6x-6x+5=7x-6x -3

    +5= 1x -3

    +3 +5=1x -3+3

    8=1x

    8÷1=1x÷1

    x= 8

  3. 6x + 5 = 7x - 3 (subtract 6x from both sides)

    6x + 5 - 6x = 7x - 3 - 6x

    5 = x - 3 (add 3 to both sides)

    5 + 3 = x - 3 + 3

    8 = x

    x = 8 <===ANSWER

    To move terms from one side to another, do the opposite operation of what is being applied. In other words, if something is being added, subtract it from both sides, and if something is being multiplied, divide it on both sides, and vice versa.

  4. x = 8.

  5. 1) Isolate for the variable "x"

    >> To Isolate basically move to the opposite side by simply doing the opp operation ( ie. if added, move to other side and subtract)

    2) Solve for "x"

    >> Do operations...

    6x+5=7x-3

    1)       6x - 7x = -3 - 5

             -1x = - 8 (DIVIDE BOTH SIDES BY "-1")

    2)     x = 8

  6. You put ur left foot in, u take ur left foot out and ya shake it all about...

    Just kidding

    6x+5=7x-3.  You want to put all of the numbers with Xs on one side and the plain numbers on the other,

    So...

    6x+5=7x-3

    6x=7x-8 (I subtracted 5 from one side and added to the other side)

    -1x=-8 (subtracted 7x from right and addedit to left)

    If you end up with a -1x, then make the number on the other side of the equation the opposite, and change the -1x to +1x so

    ANSWER:  X=8

  7. First, you have to isolate the x's to one side.  Because 6x is less than 7x, subtract 6x from both sides (what you do to one side you have to do to the other).  The equation now looks like 5=x-3.

    Now you have to isolate the x and get it by itself.  To do that, add three to each side.  (To get rid of the negative three, you add positive three).  The answer is 5+3=x...or x=8

  8. 6x+5=7x-3

    5+3 = 7x-6x

    8 = x

    X = 8

  9. Combine like terms by adding (3 - 6x) to both sides.

    (3 - 6x) + 6x + 5 = 7x - 3 + (3 - 6x)

    8 = x

    x is 8.
