  1. use ZIP option as   "Durkle" said.

using third party softwares might risky.

  2. in windows XP make a compressed (zipped) folder.

    Here are the steps

    1. right click

    2. new

    3. compressed (zipped) folder

    4.  open it

    5.  file

    6.  add a password

    7.  oops I got an error that says you can't add one to an empty folder, but put some stuff in it and then do that and there you go!

  3. right click on the folder,go down 2 sharing and security hit that, and tick the box that says, make this folder private

  4. you can put a password on a file as in word, excel etc.  but you can't password an actual folder.

if you are on a shared computer it may be best to set up the user account option on this and have a password to get into your own account and then not share this folder with any other user on the system.

if you still wish to share some of the other folders you can set these to shared by right clicking on the folder and selecting sharing and security .. in here you can select wether this is to be shared or kept private.

  5. You are unable to do that on Vista (I think?), but I believe it is able to be done on XP.

The only way I know how to do that (on XP) is to first compress the folder.  Then double-click on the compressed folder and it will open.  Click on "File" and "Add a Password."

Otherwise, you can't password protect a regular folder.

You can hide folders, too, if you feel the need.

  6. you need to zip the folder right click the folder click send to then click zip after that onpen the folder then click file you will see create password then make your password other people will still be able to open the folder but they wont be able to open the stuff you put in there so name it something wired if you dont want people knowing what it is

  7. ahhaha :)
