Question:

How do i downgrade to xp home edition on vista home premium toshiba satellite l305-s5865? Have xp disc!?

Title explains all i have the disc for xp home but ive searched everywhere nothing really specific or works im so confused and i hate vista microsoft makes it so hard if you need more info just say so and ill add and you can post on diff account or help someone lol

  1. First backup your music,pics and documents. Insert the XP disk and restart your computer. Once you boot up from the disc you should wipe your hard drive clean and install XP. Remember as soon as you install XP you must run Windows Update.


  2. Very easy mate! Put in the XP cd, reboot. It will automaticaly start up and start installing XP. Just follow the prompts.

    But make sure to make backups of your data, games, music, etc. before you do that, cause when you boot from XP cd, you will loose ALL information on your laptop.

    They say "Downgrade" but technicly speaking its a NEW installation you do over the old one :) Gluck!

  3. You will need to do a clean install so make sure that all updated drivers are secured before you attempt this project. Perhaps you should stay with vista it will be less of a headache as opposed to trying to do something of which you have no clue because windows can be problematic at times even for someone with some know how.
