How do i drain the transmission fluid out of a 2002 kia optima SE?

ok so my mother went to work this morning and thought her transmission up so she got some of the guys that work with her too take a look at it and turns out there was no transmission fluid in it, so she got them to go buy some transmission fluid and they ended up putting 2x as much than it needed so now i need to drain some of it out. please help!

  1. you could use a hand held fluid transfer pump to remove the fluid through the dipstick tube.



    OR:

    On most transmissions, you must remove the  transmission oil pan to drain the fluid. Some transmission pans on recent vehicles include a drain plug.

    To drain and refill a typical transmission, the vehicle must be raised on a hoist.

    After the vehicle is safely in position, place a drain pan with a large opening under the transmission's oil pan.

    you really need to find out why it had no fluid, if it has a leak, it will need to be fixed. if you don't have a drain plug and have to remove the pan, be prepaired for a messy job.

    You may be better off to go ahead and get it checked out and get the leak fixed.
