  1. Start by tracing through thin paper then practise freehand

  2. to get the basic body shape for the desighns, you can simply trace the outline of a person or a couple of people form a magazine or something, then use those otlines to make the designs onto. after a while and several tacings, you ill be able to do this on yourr own without needing to trace the outline.    and it doesnt have to be a detailed drawing either, just a general ooutline to give you the body shape.

as to what clothes i like most? i like things that are flattering and give the body more shape, but can be worn casually.

  3. I watch anime alot so that's where I get my ideas. I would watch cartoons or buy (or check it out from the library) a book on who to draw people. That has also helped me.

  4. You should learn to draw the body, so that you know how the clothes will look on it.  The way clothes make your body look is just as important as the clothes themselves.  i like clothes with lots of graphics and small details, so that they're almost like wearable art.  I also like Asian inspired clothing.

  5. Just start practicing. Soon you will get the hang of it. I did the same thing and now I'm pretty good. Hay and if you think you like designing clothes you should try writing. You don't just get to design the characters clothing, you get to design their whole lives.

  6. Take an art class, and then start studying the Fashion industry if your really serious about this.

You should also take a class or two on designing clothes at your local community centre or community college (ifyou still in school, they might have programme's for you)

    Good luck

  9. Are you designing for women or men? It depends. Some women have an hourglass figure, a pear-figure, a rectangular figure, a pumpkin, and upside down triangle figure. I think you should research history of fashion from different cultures and eras and start formulate your own design. Don't forget to include hairstyles and makeup.

  10. Drawing clothes is so easy.  To start out with, draw your designs as if they were laying flat, the way some catalogs show them.  Choose colors of tops that go well with bottoms and skirts and maybe draw some cute shoes and jewelry and present them like a catalog page.  You could also draw a faceless body, like a "manikin" in a store . When you get used to drawing you can be more detailed on the models. Just my idea. What ever you decide to do, remember to do it a lot, that's the best way to get good at it. Good Luck!
