  1. that's not easy to do.... but this site has great advice on drying...

scroll down the page ... column on the left........

  2. Wait till the head has died. then when dry cut, before frosts, then dry indoors. I do mine by tying stems together an hanging. They will lose most of their colour, but what we do is spray them with gold and silver paint, together with snow effect, and use them for Xmas decorations.

  3. Drying them out is easy. Getting them to hold color is the hard part. To dry naturally, just let them dry on the bush and then cut them off, or cut them and put them in a vase with no water. If you want more color in them, cut them off at the peak of their color, and put them in a vase with strong food coloring added. Give them a few days to soak up the food coloring (This is usually done best using white varieties), then empty the vase and let them dry. When dry, spray them lightly with clear enamel or acrylic, (some use hair spray), in order to help preserve them. You can also just dry them naturally, and spray with lightly with colored spray paint (Very lightly).

  4. No mater what you do, they will lose some color. This plant should dry well by just putting it in a vase and letting it dry naturally. I've done it many times before. They will be somewhat fragile once dried, so be careful when handling them. Good luck!
