How do i edit video's from my DVD RW on my computer?

Question

I have recorded gameplay from my PS3 to my Song DVD recorder. I want to edit the videos, but I can play the video but I cant edit any of it. I can open the files that came with it, but none are proper video's.

I'd really like to know how to do this, any replies will be appreciated. By the way, contact me at [e-mail] if you think its easier / faster.
