Question:

How do i enable DHCP in Vista?

I'm lost in this field so any answers would be much appreciated.

  1. Well, here is a step by step to setup a Static IP, follow it to the point where you say "Use this Address"  just click the button that says"Use Dynamic Address" or "Get Address Automatically"

    That puts Vista into DHCP mode.  DHCP Mode is the default so unless you changed your settings your machine should be in this mode.

    If you need a DHCP server that is a different question entirely. DHCP servers are usually supplied (at least for home users) by the ISP or from your router.  If you want Vista to be a DHCP server, you have the wrong OS as you would need SERVER software.  OR you can add DHCP software to become a DHCP server.     But the server software is not included in Vista..
