How do i enable Direct3D acceleration on my Windows XP?

  1. start > control panel > printers and other hardware > display ( It's on the left under see also ) > settings tab > advanced > direct 3D tab > defaults > apply > OK

  2. You need a video card that supports it, it's not your operating system that provides it. Most modern video cards support 3d acceleration so check out one that will work with your current hardware setup (agp, pci-e).

  3. It's not about enabling it in Windows, it's about whether your graphics card supports it or not.  If the graphics card was made prior to DirectX 8 support (DirectDraw 7 and earlier functionality), your graphics card doesn't support it.
