  1. To unable an iPod for disk use. Follow the following instructions. Plug in your iPod, open iTunes. First and foremost, your iPod must be plugged into your computer via usb or fire wire cable (use whatever cable you're normally using to sync and update your iPod). Most computers automatically open iTunes when you plug in your iPod, but if yours does not, make sure to also open iTunes. Select your iPod from the "Devices" heading in the left hand iTunes toolbar. When an iPod is plugged in, the left hand toolbar of iTunes will now have a "Devices" heading, where you should find your iPod listed. Select your iPod. Check, "enable disk use" from the options section. Selecting your iPod should now open an iPod screen where your music library previously existed. At the bottom of the screen you should see a heading section titled, "Options." At the bottom of the options section you'll see an option to, "enable disk use." Check the box next to it. Accept and apply. A box will pop up informing you that you now need to manually eject your iPod while disk use is enabled. Click, "ok." Finally, click "apply" in the bottom right corner of iTunes. Your iPod will now sync, and disk use will be enabled upon completion of the sync. With disk space enabled, your iPod will be listed as "removable storage" in My Computer. You'll be able to copy/cut and paste, drag and drop or save directly to your iPod from here.
