How do i enable my wireless connection after rebooting on my HP Pavilion laptop?

I recently rebooted my laptop and i installed my anti virus and sbc yahoo. So internet works but the problem is that it only works through an ethernet cable i cant be around my house wireless like i used to be able before. Also customer service charges me and it might be an easy solution..HELP PLEASE!!

  1. Step 1 - look for a wireless button on your laptop.  With many Pavilions, it is above the top row of keys on the keyboard.

    Step 2 - if the wireless is on, look for the Wireless Network Connection button on your taskbar (it should be on the right hand side, where there are a lot of icons).  Right click the icon (it looks like a computer monitor), and click on "View Available Wireless Networks."  Step 3 - Click "Refresh Network List" from the left-hand column.

    Step 4 - Select your wireless network from the list, and click connect.

    If none of that works, then you probably have a firewall issue with your antivirus software.  Post another question specifying what type of antivirus software you use, as the fix is different for different programs.
