2mor is my daughters 1st birthday party (its at a dance studio). My dad keeps asking me what people are going to do while they are there. Well at a one year old's party, how much really can you do? i have lunch, snacks, of course a cake, seats, and music... but he expects more. its from 1-4, and i dont expect everyone 2 stay the whole time.

do you have any idea's of something "to do" durring the party?

  1. a-l-c-o-h-o-l and lots of it

  2. Until your child turns 3-4 the party is actually about the parents.

However the littlies need to be entertained. Is there somewhere that you can hire play equipment from like a toy library. That way they can entertain them selves.

Often you can hire fantastic equipment like slides and mini roller coasters and it is all safe for kids of that age.

  3. Guitar Hero III & Wii

  4. I would think that most parents ( adults) know and understand that they are not there to be entertained..it's for the kids.  As long as there is refreshments and conversation that is all that is needed.

  5. dont worry about whether or not the adults are having fun they should grown enough to know the main focus should be whether the kids are having fun so heres what u should do make sure u have plenty of kiddie snack like cake, cupcake ice cream, juice, etc and music like barney and dora the explore to keep the kids entertained non stop and make sure the parents join in after all it's the child day make it memorable so that when she's older u can tell her all about it or even show her (video tape or dvd) maybe u should let the party be for 2 or 2 1/2 hours

  6. Adults should be able to understand, when you've invited them to a birthday party that's not theirs, then you shouldn't  worry. Just be social and let the kids have their fun and thank everyone for coming!

  7. a one year old won't know they have a party going on!  The paretnts will sit around and talk, and for most of them, talking to adults while the children are busy will be a welcome change.  Don't sweat it.

  8. if the kids are 1-3 years old and its at a dance studio i would reccomend dancing and trying out cute songs like "5 lil monkies hanging from a tree" or "im a little teapot" most parents enjoy playing these games and singing these songs with children and it teaches them alot too

  9. I'd assume that the adults are mostly the parents of other kids, or family.  The other parents will be busy watching their kids...and your family should be busy watching YOUR kid enjoy his day!  Give your dad the camera and have him take the pictures.....

  10. There is nothing for any adults to do at a "One Year Old's Birthday Party." First of all have it for just one hour. Make a bunch of cupcakes (don't buy them!! Make them yourself!) Have some other snacks. Set up a high chair for the birthday girl, put a bib on her.....make sure the highchair is on a big plastic sheet. After everyone is there, hand her the cupcake and watch her make a mess. Take a bunch of pictures, open the gifts and thank everyone for coming. Before she gets messy take pictures with the grandparents, etc.  No music, no seating, just a few tables with chairs so people can eat cake and have fun watching her make a mess and enjoy her birthday cake. It should last no longer than an hour.
