How do i erase search history?

I do not want anyone looking at what i am searching for how can i erase the search history??

To delete browsing history with internet explorer go to tools>options>delete files>cookies>browsing history and delete. then go to the search boxes in yahoo/google/or others click the V right side of the search box and clear search history.

For firefox go to tools and click clear private data. then go to the search boxes in yahoo/google/or others click the V right side of the search box and clear search history.

tools - internet options - erase all

this will remove cookies too

But if there is a parental blocker,   these I believe  record things seperate
