dry the plant, crush it, reflux it with methanol, rotary evapourate off the methanol, maybe leave a little to evap. on its own....might have a white powder left...cant say...I know anthraquinone is alcohol soluble, so I just made this up basically. GIve it a try.

After a little research I was somewhat right.

" The suitable solvent system for extraction consisted of 15% water, 5% hydrochloric acid

and 5% ferric chloride in methanol."
