How do i fall asleep earlier?

onee time i stayed up till 4 talking to my friend, now i cant fall asleep till then and i wake up at like 1 in the afternoon. i tyr making myself go to sleep at like 12 or 1 but it doesnt work. so how do i make myself go to sleep earlier?

  1. First, no matter when you fall asleep, wake up earlier, like 7.  If I slept til 1 in the afternoon I would not fall asleep til 4 either.  You will be tired for a day or so, but your body clock will be back to normal in no time.


  2. They say drinking warm milk makes you sleepy. Also, you could try this: go to sleep when you get tired, doesn't matter what time it is. Set your alarm early and force yourself to get up. You should feel tired earlier and wake up earlier. Try it for a few days or so if it doesn't work first time. Just a matter of training your body.

  3. you have to set an alarm and get up early. be tired all day and go to bed early. do that everyday and you will get on a better schedule

  4. I agree with Maggie and Blue1179....

    All you need to do is wake up earlier than you want to, stay awake all day (don't take a nap!) and you will crash at a more normal bedtime for you. Just make sure you don't sleep in super-late the following morning and your body clock will already be readjusting itself. If you go to sleep at 4am and wake up at 8 or 9am, there's no way you'll make it till 4am again before you feel like going to bed.

  5. Have you tried reading a book before going to bed. This is a good way to get your mind off the question of going to sleep. It does seem strange that just because you stayed up late on one occasion that your sleep pattern has been disrupted.

  6. it sounds like you changed your sleeping pattern. unfortunately, me too. you need to do something really tiring during the day and you will feel sleepy. or just pull an all nighter and wait till it gets to the time you want to sleep around to sleep

  7. try to clear your mind before you are about to go to sleep. If you are lying in bed and thinking of things you won't fall asleep.

    Also it helps if you are tired, maybe try working out in the day more.

  8. Regular exercise makes you tired, then your body will go into rest mode so exercising could make you sleep better. Also, develop a regular sleeping pattern. Try to sleep at equal times every night and avoid an afternoon nap. That way, your natural body clock will be set on the time you go to sleep and it will be easier to go to sleep earlier than 4am.
